Sarah asks: I am using Acer Aspire 5920 laptop. While typing my palms often touch the Touchpad which moves the cursor from one point to other. I use an external USB mouse. Is there a way I can turn off or disable the touchpad in my Acer Laptop?
Jenny , most of the new Acer Laptops like Acer 5740 come with a button to disable the Touchpad, a feature that was not available in the previous versions. However it can be easily disabled in earlier Acer Laptops as well.
You can use the combination Fn + F 7 to enable or disable the touchpad on your Acer Laptop.

Function key adds a lot of functionality to your Acer Laptop. Here is a list of shortcuts that you can use.

Fn + F2: Launches Acer eSettings Management.
Fn+F3 : Launches Acer ePower Management.
Fn+F4:  Sleep mode .
Fn+F5:  Switches display output between the notebook LCD, an external monitor and both the notebook LCD and external monitor.
Fn+F6 : Turns the LCD backlight off to save power; You can press any key to resume.
Fn+F7: Turns the internal touchpad on and off.
Fn+F8: Turns the speakers on and off.
Fn+F11: Turns on/Off Numlock
Fn+F12: Turns on/Off Scroll Locks
